A solution built to last

The Phantom is a unique, patented, transparent, fully automated, bullet resistant polycarbonate (a high impact, shatter resistant alternative to glass) containment unit, measuring 5ft x 10ft x 8ft tall including ADA compliant doorways. It comes complete with metal detection, video and audio surveillance as well as other “proprietary” sensors.

The Phantom is a preventative safety measure to be installed in a school lobby at an exclusive entrance area and the only point of entry for any late arrival.  The purpose of The Phantom is to keep all threats (including deadly weapons) out of the building and away from all students.

 

Step One

Once any individual enter the Phantom containment system, 100% of ALL metal items (potential threats) are detected.

Step Two

Once detected both the front and back door of the Phantom lock instantly and prevent exit at either door. The Phantom is equipped with Securitron Maglocks: These locks provide more than a ton of holding force at each door.

Step Three

This will restrain the visitor inside The Phantom until proper authorities arrive. This bullet resistant containment system has a Level 3 rating and is built with military grade material.

 

The Phantom includes a secure, separate transparent safe for deposit of any detected items. The secured individual will be directed to deposit all metal items. Any weapon will remain secured and will only be retrieved by law enforcement. 

This transparent, secure, safe separates the item from the individual before they are allowed to exit The Phantom and enter the school.

Since any individual to be remanded into police custody remains secured in the Phantom until they are released, law enforcement response time is no longer a critical factor.

Protection when and where you need it MOST. 

 

The Phantom is fully self contained.  The only external requirements are AC power and a telephone line.  We can install a cellular dialing system instead of a landline dialing system, but that would incur the cost of a monthly cell phone plan for the purchaser.  The AC power is required and we recommend an armored cable drop from the ceiling of the facility to prevent tampering.

The system self monitors and will lock down and call for human assistance if tampering is detected.  In the unlikely event of an actual system breach a loud alarm klaxon will also sound to warn those nearby of a potential immediate danger.

Multiple cameras cover activity in and surrounding the unit, as well as operation of the unit itself.  The cameras record audio/video as long as the unit is powered.  This allows for later review of incidents involving or merely adjacent to the unit.

In normal operation, the system is quiet and not alarming to nearby classrooms, even when a suspect is held/detained/ secured. 

The system is fault tolerant to AC failures, accidental or malicious.  On power loss, the unit will continue to operate for an hour, while simultaneously calling for human assistance; allowing the facility to be properly secured until power is restored.

The unit is smart enough to prevent multiple persons from “slipstreaming” (e.g. 'riding the coattails' of another person) to try to bypass the system.
